07 12 月 High-Rank Officer Warrior
The senior military official figurine is the highest ranking figurine excavated from the Terracotta Army, also known as the general figurine. Nine of them have been found so far. The common features of the general figurines are: wearing a double-tailed crossbill crown on the head and a double-layered long jacket. The feet are covered with square-headed footwear and all wear long swords. The hands are either placed on both sides of the body in the shape of holding a sword. Or they are placed overlapping on the abdomen with the palms of the hands downward, in the shape of leaning on the sword. The common features of each general figurine are sturdy, solemn, calm, and well-dressed.
At the same time, there are personality differences between general figurines. As we all know, the importance of a senior officer to a unit cannot be overstated. The selection and appointment of him must be very strict. The book of war says that the general must have the qualities of both civil and military, and both rigidity and flexibility in character. Therefore, the general’s experience, talent and spirit must be far stronger than the average military official.
The general figurine in front of us has a serious face, a powerful temperament and a calm, thoughtful demeanor. A wrinkle is carved on his forehead, clearly indicating that he is a veteran of the battlefield, experienced and well-conceived. Some of the general figurines, a long beard, gentle and elegant, reproduce a general wise and resourceful, calm and sophisticated style of Confucian general.
